News Updater V1.10

Save the program to an empty directory and start it (no installation is necessary). The program will create a directory called "WorkDir" when generating HTML pages. Here you can also store any images needed to make the preview look proper (if you are using images in your HTML template).

Templates used in the tutorials (Tutor.wsu, Example.wsu).
An example of a file created with a registered version (regexamp.wsu) with which you can evaluate the changes in menu's and options your client will have.

Latest Beta

The latest Beta version can be downloaded here. Note that new features might not be documented yet and that there could be bugs in the software. You are encouraged to report such bugs. See the news page for information about the latest updates.

Localised Version

There is a Dutch version of News updater. It can be downloaded from the Dutch site.

Upgrade Distribution File

NewsUpdater.exe is provided here for developers who followed the guidelines in step 7 of the beginners tutorial. This file can be sent to your customers. It will simply copy V1.07 over the old version file stored in the "Program Files/NewsUpdater" directory.

CSS Template contains no tables. It uses Cascading Style Sheets for layout. Supported features: Index, Images Compatable with: V1.06 and above Complies with: XHTML 1.0, CSS, no-tables-for-design-rule
Brushed Metal is a template with background images. It combines tables with css, enabling borders to stretch without distortion. Supported features: Index, Images Compatable with: V1.06 and above Complies with: XHTML 1.0, CSS
Left-Right Image is a template in which Javascript is used to align subsequent images to opposite sides of the screen. It also makes use of the (controversial) marquee tag in which the articles are listed. Supported features: Index, Images Compatable with: V1.06 and above Complies with: nothing officially

Older versions

If you do not need some new features, an older version might be smaller and easyer than the latest version. They are however no longer supported.
